Purpose

To understand the linkage between the brain and the deadliest psychiatric disorder, Anoxeria Nervosa.

Dr. Joanna Steinglass's research focuses on elucidating the neural mechanisms underlying Anorexia Nervosa and developing treatments to prevent relapse. By investigating the cognitive neuroscience of the disorder, she aims to establish links between neural mechanisms and the salient behavioral disturbances experienced by individuals with Anorexia Nervosa.

Through her work, Dr. Steinglass seeks to develop a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between the brain and behavior in Anorexia Nervosa. This knowledge will inform the development of targeted, mechanism-based treatments that address the core features of the disorder.

In addition to her research, Dr. Steinglass is committed to translating her findings into clinical practice. She has developed and tested novel behavioral and medication treatment approaches for Anorexia Nervosa, with the goal of improving outcomes and reducing the risk of relapse.

The Tiny Foundation is committed to Dr. Steinglass's vision to advance the field of eating disorders research and treatment, ultimately improving the lives of those affected by these challenging conditions. By combining cutting-edge neuroscience research with innovative clinical approaches, she is working to provide hope and healing for individuals and families impacted by Anorexia Nervosa and other eating disorders.
